JMS Group, the national civil & structural engineering firm, will soon unveil it’s new division specialising in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC). This new division will add to their growing list of services including site surveys, complex structures, highways and drainage to name just a few.
MMC involves the off-site manufacture or assembly of modules or components – from wall panels to concrete staircases to whole houses – that is then put together on site. This process improves the speed of housing delivery, with schemes often completed up to 30% quicker than traditional methods.
A recent ProCon webinar on the topic proved its growing popularity with well over 100 attendees and plentiful questions from attendees on topics including; the outlook of lenders; overcoming preconceptions; selecting sites with MMC in mind; profit margins; and insurer attitudes toward this build style.
