JMS Engineers undertook structural and civil engineering work on a prominent London synagogue known for its community impact. The project involved adding a two-storey rear extension to house a Rabbinical college, with additional accommodation and a mikvah in the basement.
JMS managed the design and detailing of the reinforced concrete basement, ensuring structural stability for the mikvah. Additionally, the team developed a robust steel frame for the extension, allowing for increased internal space and altered roof profiles.
Careful façade retention and excavation work were required to preserve the building’s character. JMS was also responsible for comprehensive internal steelwork modifications and advanced drainage solutions for the property.
